Rolando’s mother and sisters make about 400 tortillas a day to sell and for their family as well. The stove they had prior was about 12 years old and filled their corn husk room with smoke. Friday we got to experience the daily life of a Guatemalan woman, Veronica. She graciously welcomed us to help her cook in the morning and then to accompany her to the places she sells her food. We made Tipico food including: tortillias, tostados, tacos, and rellanos.

On Saturday we arrived at Barrio La Cruz and hiked a little ways up to this open field, dusty as it can be, and where it is common to loose your ground, or at least a soccer ball to a very steep slope that goes about 100 feet down.
