Breysi is one of our students that suffers from Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis and kidney failure. She is always anxious to go to school and does not miss a day when she is well enough to attend. Rolando’s mother and sisters make about 400 tortillas a day to sell and for their family as well. The stove they had prior was about 12 years old and filled their corn husk room with smoke. Friday we got to experience the daily life of a Guatemalan woman, Veronica. She graciously welcomed us to help her cook in the morning and then to accompany her to the places she sells her food. We made Tipico food including: tortillias, tostados, tacos, and rellanos.
